This is The LFC View
If you really want to know how the latest Liverpool FC game went then this is the place to be. The likes of the BBC website may give you the facts and figures but will they tell you how poor Stewart Downing really was or whether some players just didn't look interested on the day? That's where I come in.
Don't get me wrong. I'm no Negative Nerris and I endeavour to heap praise on our boys when it's due. However with the understandably blind faith of LFC TV and the Liverpool Echo, you often don't get a proper feel for how things went. I intend to offer a more realistic and straight-talking view of the day's events. In addition to this I'll be giving my two cents on the latest news which affects the club.
I suppose you could argue that being in my early 30s is the most frustrating age possible to be a Liverpool supporter. I was 10 when we won our last league title in 1990 when everything seemed just about perfect. Growing up watching those unmentionables win a further 12 in the last 20 years while the Reds stagnated has not been particularly pleasant, to say the least. But football is about accepting the lows that inevitably follow the highs and no team has a divine right to win anything. For a multitude of reasons, it's just not happened at Liverpool FC.
As a point of note I began work on this website in the final days of Roy Hodgson's reign so let's hope that this along with the return of Kenny Dalglish, can coincide with a new dawn for LFC.
